School Police Officer at Spring-Ford Area School District Responsibilities: Providing for external and internal physical security of assigned campuses, adding in police investigations, when necessary, crisis intervention as warranted District-wide, acting as liaison with juvenile probation, and providing preventive educational programs to students and staff as necessary. Requirements: Law enforcement background, demonstrated experience in working with children, teenagers and young adults, expertise in conflict management, and demonstrated strong, positive interpersonal and communication skills. Act 120 required. Qualifications: Must have five (5) years of continuous successful police service. In accordance with 2020 Act 57. Must have retired or left the police force two (2) or less years ago. Must successfully complete MPOETC annual firearms qualifications. As required by PA Act 67. Must successfully complete annual municipal police officer training to include 12 hours under 53 Pa.C.S. Ch. 21 Subch. D. and Taser certification. As required by PA Act 67. Must successfully complete the Basic School Resource Officer Course of Instruction offered by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) or an equivalent course of instruction approved by PCCD. As required by PA Act 67 Schedule: Full-time, 10 month position. 40 hours per week. Shift schedule may vary.
